Audi announces location of their newest manufacturing plant, slated for North America.
Scottsdale, AZ, 26 April 2012 – Audi has announced that they officially plan to build a new North American automotive manufacturing plant. The news was given after the AUDI AG Board of Management and Supervisory Board of AUDI AG approved plans to build a North American plant in Mexico.
“We are excited about the prospects of this announcement,” says Audi North Scottsdale Manager Jenny Lang. “This is great news for everyone in the North American market.”
The plant is slated to produce a sport utility vehicle starting in 2016. Some have speculated that Audi plans to produce the Audi Q5, but no details have been confirmed. Audi plans to send the vehicles to North American markets, but has not completely ruled out the possibility of exports.
The manufacturing plant is another part of Audi’s plan to overtake BMW as the world’s best-selling luxury auto maker and to reach their company goal of 2 million sales by 2020.
Audi CEO cites the good infrastructure, competitive costs, and existing free trade agreements in Mexico as a major reason for the decision. Volkswagen, who is Audi’s parent firm, also already has an automotive plant in Puebla and an engine plant in Silao, so the addition seems natural in many ways.
Audi has confirmed that the plant will be a fully-fledged addition to the Audi production team and will utilize Audi’s current process for resource efficiency and latest production processes.

Volkswagen sets standards higher with the VW Up!
Scottsdale, AZ, 23 April, 2012 – Volkswagen North Scottsdale is pleased to share with its customers that the Volkswagen Up! Was recently declared the 2012 World Car of the Year at the New York Auto Show on April 5, 2012.
This is the third time that a car belonging to the automotive maker has been given this title. In 2010, the VW Polo was awarded with the accolade, and the VW Golf VI won the title in 2009.

Volkswagen has announced that they are now providing restoration services to the general public. Now collectors and nostalgic drivers can have their microbuses reworked to reflect all their original glory.
Volkswagen began restoring vintage Transporters back in 2007. However, all the work was done for in-house projects including the VW museum. Since they began, the restoration team at Volkswagen has completed museum quality restoration for over 100 vintage vehicles, bringing them back to life to look and run better than ever.
